1999: Prince warning about the internet

November 3, 2024 Posted by Director Books, Art & Expression, Progress & Principles

In 1999, at the Yahoo Internet Life Online Music Awards, the musical artist known as PRINCE issued the following warning:

“Do not be fooled by the internet. It’s cool. It’s cool to get on the computer but don’t let the computer get on you. It’s cool to use the computer but don’t let the computer use you. You all saw The Matrix. There’s a war going on and the battlefield is in the mind… and the prize is the soul. So be careful. Be very careful.”
